Why bother blogging?

Why blog? Now? Is it worth spending time on? And what are the messages that I want to convey?

Today, when "everyone" is blogging, I might be very relevant to pose these questions. The main reason  that I want to try to use this format is that when it comes to subjects that I care about and easily become engaged in discussing, e.g. climate change and sustainability, information is not the key to success. This is a very hard lesson to learn for someone like me with a reductionist science background, raised in the belief that enough data and a p value less then 0.05 means the truth and nothing but the truth. But this lesson learned through my journey of life has also turned me into more of a "intellectual emotional man". Furthermore it has convinced me that I may not have all the answers and this brings me to trying to find words that hopefully connect to others and thus through emotions can bring understanding, ultimately followed by what is really needed, namely action. It is worth a try!
